Location and Access

Inscription Point is one of the many dive sites in Kurnell National Park. Kurnell is the birthplace of modern Australia after being discovered by Captain James Cook in 1788. After entering the National Park, travel along the main park road towards Cape Solander.  Turn left towards the park office, continue and park in the carpark located on your left.  From here you have a short walk to the water.

Description

There are two main entry points to this site depending on the tide.  On an outgoing tide you can enter at the small beach where the flag pole is located.  If there is an incoming tide,  enter via the right hand side of the park close to the ''No Collecting'' sign. 

You will notice a large V section in the rocks that allows easy entry to the water.

The exit point is the opposite entry point dependent on the current. In other words, if you entered at the flag pole, exit at the sign and visa versa.  If entering from the beach entry you need to swim roughly 30 meters out.  You shoud notice the bottom composition change from sand to kelp then to rock.  At this point there will be a drop off which is either your starting point or finishing point.
