Oak Park, Cronulla, NSW.

Type: Shore Dive, Depth: 12 metres, Visibility 5-10 metres, Toilet Facilities: Yes, Parking: Street.

Located at the end of Jibbon Street is one of Cronulla's best known and most popular dive sites. Oak Park has all the facilities that make for a convenient day's diving. Facilities include; BBQs, play ground, showers and toilets, picnic tables, sandy beach, sea pool and  wall dive.  The dive starts from entry/exit points located either side of the sea pool.

The primary entry/exit point is a small gully located at the end of the northern (left) side of the sea pool. Wave action can sometimes make entry/exit difficult or dangerous, an alternative entry/exit point is the small cove located on the southern (right) side of the sea pool. Take a bearing towards the end of the opposite Jibbon point, snorkel out (about 40 metres) to where the wall begins at a depth of 3 metres. The wall initially heads towards the east and gradually turns towards the north.

Along the wall you can find small overhangs to investigate, friendly blue gropers, cuttlefish and large numbers of schooling fish. Keeping close to the wall, you eventually reach a second wall which leads to an underwater cave that is marked by a porcelain urinal (just before the cave), however  you need to be good on your air to reach it.

If you plan to dive this site for the first time, our friendly instructors & dive masters would welcome the opportunity to fully brief you on this site prior to your dive.
