Following
Captain Cook drive all the way till you reach the Toll Gate into Kurnell
National Park that will lead you to this magnificent dive site. Make sure
you have $6 in change on you as the machine does not accept notes. Once in
the park continue up the road, past the discovery centre entrance and the
turn off for the monument, continue along the road till you see a small car
parking area on your left at the top of the incline.
Find the small walkway
that takes you down to the waters edge and follow this down the stairs,
across the small little bridge and onto the rock platform. Enter into the
water via a small little cove, and descend onto the large boulders. Follow
the boulders along to the right. After swimming for a couple of minutes you
will reach the sponge gardens.
Keep your eyes peeled for some cute little
sea horses, heaps of mosaic sea stars, cuttlefish and a vast array of
schooling fish. Look under the ledges for Port Jackson sharks when they are
in season. Return to the entry point to finish the dive, making sure there
aren’t any waves pounding the small cove. An alternate exit point is located
near Inscription Point.
If you plan to dive this site for the first time, our friendly instructors & dive masters would welcome the opportunity to fully brief you on this site prior to your dive. |
